Cultivating literacy through libraries

Literacy is imperative

e3kids international supports libraries because they provide a catalyst for learning and a venue that fosters collaboration, literacy and leadership development.

Our mission to equip, empower and educate youth drives our library initiatives. We know that investment in literacy, STEAM education, technology and teacher training transforms lives and gives youth the tools to overcome the cycle of poverty. By establishing and supporting libraries as engaging learning spaces, we reinforce the value and benefits of education. Students get motivated and strive toward academic excellence, and these same students become mentors, leaders, and changemakers in their local communities. e3kids is helping students realize their potential and make a difference around the globe.

Jomvu Royal Comprehensive School library established January 2023

From 2012 - present, e3kids international has built 2 school libraries in Mombasa, Kenya and has provided on-going support, training, technical assistance and extensive renovations. These libraries are fully equipped with books and technology and will benefit students for generations to come. In the process, we developed a model that can be adapted and replicated wherever God opens the door.

creating successful libraries

We approach all of our library projects as an educational partner, and in collaboration, we customize the library program to meet the needs of the school or organization. Here’s how our model works:

  • Build relationships and community partnerships in the school community or organization.

  • Assess and address the needs of students, teachers and administrators.

  • Develop relevant and sustainable plans for the cultural context, facilities, curriculum and school.

  • Build out library space, train teachers, and welcome the school community.

  • Enhance with technology, STEAM activities and audiovisual equipment.

  • Create a sustainable library for reading, learning, instruction and enrichment.
