Kitchen Project: Walls are Growing

Three weeks ago the Fredericksburg Christian School mission team entered Royal Kids School with the mission to build a new kitchen. As the Mamas in the kitchen could tell you, this upgrade is much needed.

Currently, the kitchen consists of a eight foot square room where there are two burning fire spaces called sufuria.  These three ladies turn out three meals a day for 400 students with no microwaves, ovens, or automatic can openers. They rely on simply elbow grease and good conversation to cook delicious meals.

As Mama Shiro explained the combination of the elements, flies, and little space make the working quarters difficult. The new space (pictured below) will give opportunity for better cooking conditions.

The section on the left is the future kitchen for Royal Kids School. The middle is the dining hall and the far right side will be the bathrooms.
